Dr. Kolak has a new publication that just came out within the The Wiley Blackwell Encyclopedia of Health, Illness, Behavior, and Society, Second Edition, edited by William Cockerham, Stella Quah, J. Michael Ryan, and Jonathan Gabe. This reference volume provides a comprehensive view of health, illness, behavior, and society from interdisciplinary views, from sociology to geography and public health.
Dr. Kolak’s chapter on GIS & Health Geography provides a background on how health geography emerged and was shaped as a field when connected with GIScience perspectives and GISystems, and vice versa, generating new insight into health processes. This chapter updates the previous entry written by Professor Mei Po Kwan in 2014.
